Many people take advantage of the opportunity to ski the Blackcomb glacier, usually open through the end of July, in the morning and then indulge in a round of golf or lounge in the sun around the lakes.

Summer Hiking

HIKING
Whistler’s high alpine hiking is superlative. Hike all the way up or let the gondola do the heavy lifting and enjoy the spectacular views along the many hiking trails on Whistler, Blackcomb and the mountains of the Garibaldi Provincial park.
You can explore ancient dormant volcanoes, spectacular waterfalls, colourful alpine lakes and snow-capped glaciers.
Along the way you are sure to encounter the local wildlife including black bears, whiskey jack birds, bald eagles, and the marmots which give Whistler its name for their fascinating whistling sounds in our vast decipherous forests.
