The home has recently completed a total interior rebuild and extension to the highest standards and in a traditional Whistler/Alpine idiom, with peeled logs, reclaimed wooden floors, slate, granite, leather and wrought iron. Antique ski-ing items decorate the walls, interspersed with the latest in plasma TV technology. This home combines the best of the old and new to make the perfect Whistler package.
The hand-carved front door gives a taste of things to come, and opens onto a spacious hallway, with practical tiled floors combined with decorative touches like a First Nations totem pole. A corridor leads down from this level to two bedrooms: a very large queen, beautifully-decorated and with luxury ensuite bathroom and a second bedroom with a log tribunk arrangement: double bed below and twin bed above. The private outdoor hot tub is accessed off the queen bedroom through a custom door. There is also a second full bathroom on this level. Additionally, stairs lead down to a newly reclaimed and very spacious media room, which has a new queen sofabed and extensive additional seating arond the large screen TV.
From the entrance level, wooden stairs with custom wrought iron handrails lead up to the main living and entertainment area. Straight ahead is the luxury kitchen, to the left is the living room and the den and third full bathroom are on the right hand side.
The living area is a luxurious combination of space, comfort and traditional Alpine decor. Peeled logs hold up the high ceiling, a massive stone wood-burning fireplace will be the focus of apres-ski relaxation and two separate seating areas offer flexibility for simultaneous different activities. The antique dining table will be the centrepiece of gracious living for those who like to cook themselves - of course the great restaurants of the village are only a short walk away.
The den area is open to, but separate from the living room and has its own TV and ensuite full bathroom with large shower stall, which also serves as a guest bathroom on the main floor.
Upstairs again leads to the master bedroom suite: an extremely comfortable getaway with king bed, private seating area with TV and luxurious bathroom with oversize two-person tub, separate shower stall with frameless glass suround and two hand-built cabinets with his and hers wash basins.
